Authentic Japanese Food Appreciation & Tasting Experience

Do not wait until that next trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, come down to this event and try out food samples made by a native Japanese who will also share some tips about cooking simple Japanese dishes.

In this event, we will be getting an expatriate who holds a professional teaching career in Japan to share her knowledge about Japan. Through this sharing, participants will learn to appreciate Japanese food culture.

We welcome all participants and this sharing session will be conducted primarily in English.

Presenter’s Profile

With 30 years of professional experience and teaching roles under her belt, Ms Sekioka has developed a high proficiency in the areas of English language, social studies, and Japanese culture.

From humble beginnings as a former high school English Teacher and volleyball coach in Shizuoka, Ms Sekioka currently works with the Japan Foundation Asia Centre, the cultural institution appointed by the Japanese Government to execute international cultural exchange programs throughout the world.

Ms Sekioka has also undergone a significant number of teaching immersion programs and interacted with people from all walks of life and nationalities, from Australia to Canada.

Some other notable programs which Ms Sekioka is currently involved in includes the NIHONGO Partners Programme which was launched in October 2018 in Nanyang Polytechnic, to impart Japanese mannerism to students. Since its launch, students who partook in the course found numerous opportunities to interact with people residing in Japan.

An introduction to bustling Indonesia’s Language, Culture, and Cuisines
